History

Prior to the Southside Lofts & Retail development, the site was the former home of Milt's Coin Operated Laundry, Mini Liquor Store, and a small office space. In January, 2002 a fire struck this property, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage, and was deemed a total loss by the City of Berkeley. The original owners of the property and Premium Properties & Development teamed up to redevelop the site.
